~ 1/15/10 ~

Been busy working on backend code for the EF Conquest game. Freshly completed are the combat engine and base AI for computer-controlled nations! Currently wrapping a few details related to naval transport, then will be implementing magic system.
Also have contacted a set of players for the planned summer beta. If you did not get contacted and are still interested, let me know.

One other note: the forum is currently disabled due to rather incessant spamming. Not sure what to do about that at the moment, so I just shut it off.

A special project in the works for three quarters of a year is now complete! View details here

Added a couple of screenshots of the EF client, which is still very much a work in progress. You can see the more attractive world map texturing I'm using.

I've been working both client and backend for EF Conquests, and have shared a version of the viewer with a select few. Not ready to post screen shots, though. It's coming along, but still much to do.

Though it's been awhile since my last site update, I have not been idle. I'm trying to work two projects at once, the second being a reincarnation of the old Empire Forge. It is a total rewrite from the ground up. In support of that, i've been working on a random map generator for a month or so. It is the most complex piece of software I've ever written... and it's basically done. There is some info on the project on the EF Conquest page.

CRPG screenshots updated

Still a lot of backend work on Dungeon Crawl. Building out character, equipment, stats, these days.
Doesn't make for great screenshot material, but I've added the character screens:

Working mostly on the back-end of the Dungeon Crawl, so not a lot of good screen shot material I guess.
Also have a few other projects in the air.... don't I always?
I did go ahead and link in something small on the page for the project:

I've switched gears again, and am back working on the RPG dungeon crawl. Made quite a bit of progress, and hope to have some screenshots up soon. :)

~ 4/22/08 ~

I'm working on a large-scale multiplayer game, these days. About time. :)
I've also implemented some performance improvements on the server so things shouldn't be quite as painful as they have been.

The King's Alchemist is finally posted. It's a bit raw right now. Needs testing and refining. On to planning my next project...
I'm thinking of getting back into multiplayer, and something more ambitious than an applet.

~ 3/1/08 ~

The King's Alchemist is mere days from completion! Everything is done now, even the menu screens.
I am still fleshing out the enemy waves -- scripting which enemies attack when, etc. Should not take long at all.
Also need to add a little bit to create a scores page. I'll be sending out requests for testers for those whose email addresses I can find easily.

What? Two updates in two days?? What a madman!
Heh. Just mentioning the new "Geek Score Calculator" down in the afterthoughts section. If you take the quiz, I'd like to hear what your score was!

~ 2/21/08 ~

I've (finally) posted jPretty in the productivity section. Also, I have resumed work on The King's Alchemist after a long break to finish the digital table.
I think Alchemist should be done soon! I may work on something multiplayer after that.

~ 2/15/08 ~

I've created a page to display the digital gaming table I've been working on! Now with this out of the way, I can return to code work. :)
Here is a link to the digital table page.
