Overview
Empire Forge Conquests is a turn-based, computer moderated multiplayer strategy game. It is inspired by board games like Axis & Allies and Diplomacy.Players use a variety of units and magic to conquer territory. During gameplay, they'll also need to talk with the other players over email to discuss strategy, alliances, and goals.
When joining a game, each player selects a leader which grants specific abilities, and a nation. A nation will have unique traits as well, including units that only that nation can produce. Players who are looking for a challenge (or who are too lazy to select all those leaders and nations) can set their choice to be random. Selecting randomly also grants a bonus of 2 victory points when the game starts.
Players submit their orders via a downloadable game client, called the viewer. The game server processes the orders on a schedule (usually once per week). Players can then view the results with the viewer each turn, and begin creating new orders.
When the game ends, players receive a score based on the rank they achieved during the game. All players who survive to the end receive a score.
The story of EFC:
Near the end of the last age, a great war was tearing apart the world. The great houses warred with remnants of the old empire, while some the nonhuman races began to make their own plays for power. Armies and navies clashed in all corners of the land and sea. Magic was employed on a vast scale, and when the end to war seemed in sight, the foundations of the world finally shattered under the strain of the relentless use of magic.Continents collapsed and new ones arose. Islands migrated across the oceans. Few nations survived.
A great rift in reality formed, torn by warring spells. Through this spilled a new horror -- beings from another plane known only as the "Outsiders."
This is the backdrop against which Empire Forge Conquests games take place.
