Races
Races in Forge of Legends allow a player to customize player characters in some important ways. All races can give access to special abilities,
attribute changes, skill bonuses, or resistances, depending what subrace is selected. Below is a list of races, subraces, and the bonuses or weaknesses
they grant to a character.
Human
Humans are the most adaptable of the races.They are ever willing to
explore, fight, build, and seize opportunity. Humans are found in
every corner in the world, and can fill any role in an adventuring
party.
Unlike the other races, humans do not select a racial subtype.
Rather, they benefit from a bonus to experience gained, allowing
human characters to level faster than any others.

Elf
An ancient race, elves can be found in every corner of the world.
The first elves loved the stars and the trees, and were friends to
all races. Over thousands of years, elves diversified into many
subraces, not all of which are as pleasant as their forefathers.
Three elf subraces are playable in Forge of Legends.
Subrace: Wood Elf
Wood Elves still love the forests of their ancient past. They are
the most common elf race, and are generally friendly to outsiders.
They value nature and woodcraft, and retain special skill with bows.

Subrace: Dark Elf
The Dark Elf is a being who has strayed far from what the first
elves personified. Over the ages they gradually evolved from loving
the night sky, to loving the night, to loving darkness. The have a
special affinity for things of shadow, and have honed a deadly speed
surpassed by no other race.

Finger of Shadow
Subrace: High Elf
High Elves are the elders of the elf race. They are the most
ancient and learned of elvenkind. They prize mental prowess, even
to the point of sacrificing physical power. Additionally, all High
Elves are trained in lore.

Dwarf
A race nearly as ancient as the Elves, Dwarves are hardy inhabitants
of mountains and mines. They are stalwart and tough, though not all
Dwarves choose the same path through life. When there is a tough,
dirty job to be done, look to a Dwarf to hammer through obstacles and
forge a victory!
Subrace: Dwarven Defender
Called fearless by many, the Dwarven Defender prides himself on
preventing harm from coming to those he wishes to protect. Able to
withstand punishment that would break members of other races, a
Dwarven Defender is a welcome sight to those around him.

Subrace: Dwarven Builder
Dwarven society does not center entirely around combat. The
Dwarven Builder is one whose background includes engineering,
construction, and crafts that make civilization possible. These
Dwarves can often be found serving as craftsmen in cities and towns,
but can also fill multiple roles in an adventuring party.

Craft Masterpiece
Subrace: Dwarven Rager
Some Dwarves are patient, but other Dwarves are eager to smash the
skulls of their enemies and grind his bones to dust! Such is the
case with Dwarven Ragers. A Rager is a Dwarf who solves problems
the old-fashioned way: with hard steel!

Rage
Gnome
Gnomes are small, whimsical, and touched by magic. While some live
only to find mischief, others lead the lives of scholars. Most
Gnomes are in possession of good spirits and shiny baubles in equal
amounts, and love a good adventure!
Subrace: Mercurial Gnome
A Mercurial Gnome is deft at cracking both jokes and locks. He is
easily fascinated and distracted, but lives life with a constant good
humor.

Light Hearted
Subrace: Gnome Ancient
Sometimes nicknamed "The Loremasters" by other races, Gnome
Ancients have refined studying ancient mysteries to an art. They
have unsurpassed intellects, but are quite frail.

Faerie
Faerie are magical beings, created by the twinkling of stars,
rustling leaves on a clear night, or the passing thoughts of ancient
dragons. They are much less common than the other races, and only
the bravest of them associate with those not of their kind. They are
slight of frame, and tiny to behold. However, they can still be
potent under the right circumstances.
Subrace: Faerie of the Leaf
These Faerie are bound to the force that drives all life. Their
hearts are filled with the desire to see life flourish, and can be
tenacious in their opposition to those that threaten it.

A Faerie of the Flame is a being of passion: quick to anger, and
fearsome as an enemy. They are quite comfortable with fire, but
equally vulnerable to cold.

These Faerie are an expression of magic in its purest form. They
are not tied to any particular element, but resonate with all magic.

Jotunn
Jotunn, or "The Giant Ones", come from unknown origins. Some say
they were once men, but little of their past is known for certain.
What is known is that they are strong -- brutally strong. Standing
from 7 to 9 feet tall, they tower over the other races. They tend to
be simple-minded, though, often tossing aside wisdom for the sake of
a lust for battle.
Subrace: Jotunn Juggernaut
Bred to be savage and warlike, the Jotunn Juggernaut strikes fear
into his enemies with his raw power. It takes a brave soul indeed to
stand toe-to-toe against this dreaded warrior.

Intimidate
Subrace: Jotunn Thrall
Bred to work as slaves, Jotunn Thralls are as strong as their
Juggernaut cousins, and can take a bit more physical abuse. They
lack some of the fearsome demeanor of the Juggernaut, however.
